Who is S.O.U.L. Creations?
S.O.U.L. Creations is a not-for-profit, 501 (c) (3), community-based educational agency. The mission is to blend academic, social, and cultural elements into a unique process of self-discovery that educates, empowers, and validates youth. The vision is to be an independent, unconventional and international educational organization recognized for its ability to strengthen communities through their youth.

What does S.O.U.L. Creations do?
S.O.U.L. restores cultural paradigms based on indigenous as well as contemporary models of education and socialization through various ways. They provide:

arts-in-education enrichment programs,
• interactive and motivational multi-media cultural exhibitions,
• community, school, and church performances,
• workshops
• lectures
• rites of passage programming
• African drum and dance classes

These services are provided at grade schools, high schools, universities, community centers, and churches throughout the Midwest.

How does S.O.U.L. Creations accomplish its mission?
S.O.U.L. expounds upon the concept of culture and recognizes that attitudes, beliefs, and values shape one’s behavior, perspective, interaction, and experience with the world. This is accomplished primarily through two programs. The Soul Experience is an arts-in-education enrichment program that develops Life Skills, Creative Expression, and Cultural Fluency. The Inward Journey program is an educational, motivational, and interactive multi-media cultural exhibition based on a combined nine year voyage across four continents and into more than 20 countries throughout North America, the South Pacific, Southeast Asia, India, and West Africa

Why does S.O.U.L. Creations provide these services?
S.O.U.L. provides these services as a way to address issues that underlie anti-social behavior, violence, teenage pregnancy, suicide, gangs, substance abuse, and a host of other factors that negatively impact upon the lives of today’s youth. S.O.U.L. understands that the core issues related to negative self-identity often times are the source of personal, academic and professional failure.

When does S.O.U.L. Creations provide services?
S.O.U.L.’s programs run both, during and after school. Performances and exhibitions are provided 7 days a week, between the hours of 8am–10pm. Summer services are provided as well.

Where does S.O.U.L. Creations provide its services?
S.O.U.L. provides service out of the S.O.U.L. Center, located within the Weissbourd-Holmes Family Focus Community Center. In addition, programs, exhibitions, performances, workshops and classes are held at various sites throughout the Midwest.
